Application Deadlines in Michigan
It’s application season for Michigan’s universities.
Nothing says fall like pumpkin spice lattes and planning for your future. As students begin working on applications, it’s important to be aware of application fees and approaching deadlines for priority admission and financial aid.
March 1 is the state of Michigan’s FAFSA deadline; however, many schools have alternate deadlines to provide priority financial aid opportunities. If a college does not provide a specific financial aid deadline, then stick with this FAFSA date when adhering to all of your financial needs.
In addition to applying for financial aid, many of Michigan’s public universities provide rolling admissions to students, which allow candidates to have a large window to submit applications. Keep in mind that this window closes when all slots are filled – so it’s best to submit as early as possible. This allows applications to be less binding, and offers a less stressful, and longer, period of time to apply.
In addition to financial aid priority deadlines, many colleges will advise applicants to submit their general applications early for priority admission. This option does not necessarily make it easier or harder to gain admission, but it does ensure that you’ll receive the University’s decision faster.
